Meet Julian Stips, an Amsterdam-based artist making waves in the world of art and fashion illustration. Known for his vibrant colors, surreal charm, and bold patterns, Julian’s work captivates the imagination and embodies creativity, risk-taking, and a fresh perspective on fashion and identity.

A UNIQUE VISION ROOTED IN FASHION
Since graduating from the prestigious fashion design department at ArtEZ, Arnhem in 2012, Julian has been developing his distinctive style in his Amsterdam studio. Influenced by his fashion background, his illustrations often feature dandy and queer-androgynous models, reflecting his unique approach to beauty, identity, and menswear. His work has been featured in Het Parool, where he shared insights into his artistic influences and evolution.

EXHIBITIONS AND ORIGINAL WORK
In September 2021, Julian’s talent shone in a sold-out solo exhibition at I Love Illustration Gallery in De Hallen, Amsterdam. The showcase featured an eclectic mix of drawings and paintings inspired by vintage designs, contemporary couture, and striking menswear collections, often adorned with intricate patterns. His original artworks are already attracting interest from collectors worldwide.

EDUCATOR AND INNOVATOR
Beyond commissioned projects, Julian is passionate about mentoring the next generation of artists, teaching drawing and fashion illustration at various fashion schools in Amsterdam.

COLLABORATIONS AND LIVE EVENTS
Julian is available for collaborations with fashion brands, designers, editorial projects, as well as wall and window paintings on location. Perfectly suited to capture menswear trends and live shows, his innovative vision brings a distinctive and dynamic perspective to every project.
