JULIAN STIPS

Introducing Amsterdam-based Julian Stips, a rising talent in the world of art and fashion illustration. Julian's work is characterized by its vibrant colors, surrealistic charm, and bold patterns, capturing the imagination of those who encounter it.

Since graduating from the prestigious fashion design department of art academy ArtEZ in Arnhem in 2012, Julian has been honing his craft from his studio in Amsterdam. His illustrations, often inspired by his background in fashion and his exploration of queer identity, have garnered attention for their unique perspective.
   

In addition to his commissioned work for publications like Het Parool, Julian is dedicated to sharing his knowledge as a teacher of drawing and fashion illustration at various Amsterdam fashion schools.

In September 2021, Julian's talent took the spotlight with his first solo exhibition at the acclaimed I Love Illustration Gallery in De Hallen Amsterdam, which sold out. This vibrant showcase featured a mix of drawings and paintings of vintage designs, contemporary couture and bold menswear collections, many of which adorned with intricate patterns.

In March 2024, he collaborated in a duo show with his father, artist Wouter Stips, further showcasing his versatility and artistic prowess.

Julian's original paintings and sketches are already attracting interest from collectors worldwide. With his distinct style and flourishing reputation, Julian Stips is undoubtedly an artist to watch in the contemporary art scene.
