Meet Julian Stips, an exciting Amsterdam-based artist,  who is making waves in the world of art and fashion illustration. Known for his vibrant colours, surreal charm and bold patterns, Julian's work captivates the imagination of everyone who encounters it. His unique vision and innovative approach embody bold creativity, a willingness to challenge norms, and an openness to reimagine what art can be.

Since graduating from the prestigious fashion design department at ArtEZ in Arnhem in 2012, Julian has been perfecting his craft from his studio in Amsterdam. His illustrations are deeply influenced by his fashion background, often featuring dandy and androgynous models, reflecting his unique perspective on beauty and identity. This distinctive vision was recently spotlighted in an interview with Fiona Hering in Het Parool, where he shared insights into his artistic influences and the evolution of his style.

Beyond his commissioned work for renowned publications, Julian is also dedicated to nurturing the next generation of artists as a drawing and fashion illustration instructor at various fashion schools in Amsterdam. 

In September 2021, Julian's talent was on full display in a sold-out solo exhibition at the esteemed I Love Illustration Gallery in De Hallen Amsterdam. This vibrant showcase featured an eclectic mix of drawings and paintings inspired by vintage designs, contemporary couture, and striking menswear collections, many adorned with intricate patterns. His original paintings and drawings are already drawing interest from collectors around the globe.

Julian Stips is open to exciting collaborations with fashion brands, designers, editorial projects, and even wall and window paintings on location. Perfectly suited to capture the essence of menswear trends and shows, Julian brings a unique artistic flair to fashion illustration.
