INTRODUCING OUR NEW TALENT

Amsterdam-based Mary B. (1980) is a talented contemporary fashion illustrator and catwalk model who has recently joined the I Love Illustration Agency. As a graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, Mary refined her skills through additional studies at Central Saint Martins in London and the Arendonk Academy in Belgium. Her primary medium includes colored pencils and oil pastels, with which she creates evocative fashion illustrations that capture the essence of contemporary style.

A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION THROUGH ART
Mary’s artistic journey took a pivotal turn during the global pandemic. Having quit her job to pursue an Artist Residency in Japan, she found herself homebound instead. This unexpected period of isolation became a creative turning point. Free from external pressures, she rediscovered her love for drawing and developed a distinctive artistic style. Within six months, her work was exhibited at the IJCK group show, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her career.

RAW AND DETAILED FASHION NARRATIVES
Her illustrations are a balance of raw energy and meticulous detail. She draws inspiration from Instagram, street style looks, and compelling visual trends. Saving intriguing poses, unique characters, and striking patterns, she translates them into her work with a distinctive flair. Each drawing seeks to breathe life into fashion, capturing textures, prints, and the atmosphere of her subjects. Vogue’s Laird Borrelli-Persson has aptly described her work: “Perfection can be off-putting, imperfection is invitingly human.”

EXHIBITIONS AND PROJECTS
Mary’s work has been featured in group exhibitions at I Love Illustration Gallery, where her distinctive fashion illustrations have garnered attention for their emotional depth and dynamic style. For her latest project, she created 50 unique fashion looks inspired by recent catwalk collections, demonstrating her keen eye for trends and her ability to translate them into striking visuals.
