About I Love Illustration Gallery
Located in the beautifully restored tram depot De Hallen, in the vibrant heart of Amsterdam, I Love Illustration Gallery is a boutique gallery dedicated to contemporary art with a strong focus on fashion, style, and visual culture.
Founded in 2020 by curator and art director Anneke Krull, the gallery presents original works by a carefully curated selection of established and emerging artists, both Dutch and international. While fashion illustration remains a core foundation, the gallery embraces a broader artistic language where drawing, graphic work, mixed media, and cross-disciplinary practices meet.
At the heart of the gallery is the work of Piet Paris, whose bold and unmistakable visual language has become iconic within fashion illustration and contemporary graphic art.
Founder & Director
Anneke Krull brings over 25 years of experience in the fashion, editorial, and creative industries, with collaborations including Blvd., AvantGarde, Elegance, Marie Claire, RED, Grazia, Wendy, the Rijksmuseum and Vlisco.
Ten years before founding the gallery she created the personal blog I LOVE ILLUSTRATION, which grew into an international platform dedicated to fashion illustration and visual culture.
In 2010, she collaborated with Gestalten on The Beautiful: Illustrations for Fashion and Style, featuring 100 leading international artists working across fashion, editorial, and advertising. The book became a widely collected reference within the field and marked an important milestone in her curatorial practice.
Exhibitions & Pop-Ups
Alongside the gallery programme, we curate exhibitions and pop-up shows in collaboration with cultural institutions, fashion platforms, and brands.
Highlights include a large-scale collaboration with Amsterdam Fashion Week, showcasing both established and emerging Dutch talent and exploring the evolving language of fashion illustration and style-driven art.
Another key project was Amsterdam Modestad, created in collaboration with De Hallen Amsterdam, celebrating both 750 years of Amsterdam and the 5-year anniversary of I Love Illustration Gallery. The project transformed the iconic passage of De Hallen with a series of 2-meter-high banners, presenting a powerful visual tribute to Amsterdam as a fashion and creative capital, alongside an exhibition and programme in the gallery space.
Space Rental
The gallery space is also available for selected rentals as a pop-up venue or temporary exhibition space. By sharing the space, we are able to cover operational costs and continue developing our curatorial programme — ensuring the gallery remains a dynamic platform for both emerging and established illustration talent.
I Love Illustration Agency
ILI Agency connects brands with artists in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.
The agency exclusively represents Piet Paris and works with a carefully curated international network of illustrators, selected per project for their distinctive style and creative excellence.
