ILI GALLERY
Founded in Amsterdam in 2020 as I Love Illustration Gallery by curator Anneke Krull, ILI Gallery is a curated platform dedicated to contemporary illustration, with a strong focus on fashion, style and visual culture.
The gallery presents original works by a carefully selected group of established and emerging artists from the Netherlands and abroad. While fashion illustration remains at its core, ILI Gallery embraces a broader artistic language where drawing, graphic work, mixed media and cross-disciplinary practices meet.
At the heart of ILI Gallery is the work of Piet Paris, whose bold and unmistakable visual language has become iconic within fashion illustration and contemporary graphic art.
THE NEXT STEP
After six wonderful years in De Hallen Amsterdam, ILI Gallery is taking the next step.
Rather than being tied to one permanent location, ILI Gallery is moving into a more flexible and dynamic format — bringing art into new places, collaborations and contexts.
The focus is now on pop-up exhibitions, curated art projects, collaborations and Art Partnerships with fashion, beauty, lifestyle and cultural brands and spaces. Through these projects, ILI Gallery brings contemporary illustration and the artists it represents into inspiring and unexpected environments.
The ILI Gallery online shop will continue, offering a curated selection of original artworks, limited editions and other works by our artists.
FOUNDER & CURATOR
Anneke Krull brings over 25 years of experience in the fashion, editorial and creative industries, with collaborations including AvantGarde, Blvd., Elegance, Grazia, Marie Claire, RED, Rijksmuseum, Vlisco, VROUW and WENDY.
In 2010, ten years before founding ILI Gallery, she created the personal blog I LOVE ILLUSTRATION, which grew into an international platform dedicated to fashion illustration and visual culture.
In 2010, she also collaborated with Gestalten on The Beautiful: Illustrations for Fashion and Style, featuring 100 leading international artists working across fashion, editorial and advertising. The book became a widely collected reference within the field and marked an important milestone in her curatorial practice.
Today, Anneke continues to connect artists, brands, spaces and audiences through exhibitions, collaborations and curated art projects.
EXHIBITIONS & POP-UPS
Over the past six years, ILI Gallery has presented a diverse programme of exhibitions featuring both established and emerging artists from the Netherlands and abroad.
Alongside its gallery programme, ILI Gallery has curated exhibitions and pop-up projects in collaboration with cultural institutions, fashion platforms and brands.
Highlights include a large-scale collaboration with Amsterdam Fashion Week, showcasing both established and emerging Dutch talent and exploring the evolving language of fashion illustration and style-driven art.
Another key project was Amsterdam Modestad, created in collaboration with De Hallen Amsterdam to celebrate both 750 years of Amsterdam and the 5-year anniversary of I Love Illustration Gallery. The project transformed the iconic passage of De Hallen with a series of 2-metre-high banners, presenting a powerful visual tribute to Amsterdam as a fashion and creative capital, alongside an exhibition and programme in the gallery space.
