Piet Paris. New studies. New techniques. New work.
At the end of January, graphic artist Piet Paris presents new work at COKO Space in Amsterdam. The presentation showcases an exclusive portfolio in a limited, signed edition -the result of his most recent studies and the development of new graphic techniques, including linocut and screen printing.
In late 2025, visitors and guests at Rosewood Amsterdam were able to witness, over four weeks in an open studio, how Piet Paris' work comes to life. As artist-in-residence, he created hundreds of live sketches based on fashion designs by Viktor & Rolf and Iris van Herpen, among others. Studies that led him towards new graphic techniques such as linocut and screen printing, and above all towards a deepening and refinement of his unmistakable style. Piet Paris' distinctive feel for abstraction and the elegance of the female figure, together with his sense of compositions that are both balanced and dynamic, now dominates his new work more than ever. Fashion remains his muse, but the work is decidedly autonomous.
"With a deliberately limited set of tools, I strive to preserve and renew the centuries-old craft of the techniques I use, by translating them into the future," says Piet Paris. "Styling, abstraction, interpretation and a modern visual language play a key role in this."
Piet Paris' exclusive portfolio takes centre stage during the presentation at COKO Space. The edition is limited to 25 numbered and signed portfolios, each containing five large-format works (50 ×60 cm) and one original drawing presented in a bespoke designed folder. Available both during the presentation and through I Love Illustration Gallery & Agency.

Piet Paris – Icon of Contemporary Fashion Illustration
For over 35 years, Piet Paris has set the standard in international fashion illustration. With his clear, stylized, and always surprising visual language, he captures the essence of fashion in just a few lines. His work is celebrated by leading magazines, designers, and fashion houses worldwide – and followed closely by collectors who recognize its rare artistic and cultural value.
Born Pieter ’t Hoen (The Hague, 1962), Piet Paris has built an impressive body of work. He served three times as the artistic director of the Arnhem Fashion Biennale and was the creative director of Harper’s Bazaar Netherlands. In 2008, he received the prestigious Grand Seigneur fashion award. He created iconic illustrations, displays, and window installations for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York.
In addition to his commissioned work, Paris continues to create autonomous, contemporary artworks that push the boundaries of the genre. His original pieces are now part of art collections around the globe. As a teacher at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, he also inspires a new generation of illustrators.
Piet Paris is a master of reduction. His work revolves around balance, proportion, composition, and flair. With a sharp eye for form and concept, he not only depicts fashion but also reflects on it – with beauty, intellect, and wit.
Piet Paris is represented by I Love Illustration Gallery & Agency.
