Antonia (Tonny) was already involved with fashion as a little girl. The clothes of her Barbie, the Sissie movies, she loved to see how clothes can enchant you. “Clothing is so expressive; thanks to the shapes, colors and endless combination possibilities you can always be who you want. ”

She went to the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht and eventually ended up in the classroom herself: from 1982 to 2009 she worked as a teacher at various fashion courses in Amsterdam and Breda. In the meantime, she set up the Antonia shop in Amsterdam, which caused a furore in the 90s with young Dutch fashion designers such as Gletcher, Illustrious Imps, Lawina, Orson & Bodil and the shoes of Lola Pagola.

Even more famous than her shop are her ultra stylish collages. She has been making them since her academy days, but since the beginning of 2011 she has been a professional collagist. She works on commission for many magazines and newspapers, such as Elle, Harper's Bazaar, L'Officiel, WOTH, De Volkskrant, but also for fashion labels such as Claudia Sträter and PAUW. In addition, she makes free work. “I do that old school, with paper, cutting and pasting. I work intuitively, while cutting and later sliding the parts an idea arises for a combination. Sometimes this also happens by coincidence. Colors are important, there must be a surprise, the collage must tell a story or indicate an atmosphere. ”
